On 21 May we were thrilled to be able to help with the return of seal pups Sealia and Gully who were returned back to their home waters around Jethou.
Gully was rescued last November and Sealia early January, both were between a quarter to a third of the 40kgs they should have weighed for their age which was under a month old and extremely poorly, emaciated and in such ill health they wouldn’t have survived if they hadn’t been rescued.
Steve Byrne, GSPCA Manager said: “A huge thank you to Island Rib Voyages and those on Jethou for all of their help and support with the release today.”
We have worked closely with GSPCA on several seal rescues and re-launches. More at the GSPCA website –https://www.gspca.org.gg/blog/1st-guernsey-seal-pups-2019-sealia-and-gully-back-wild
